Course Description
The course provides you with the basic horticultural skills needed to prepare you for working safely and effectively at home or in industry. You will be taught through a combination of activities which will include practical workshops, formal lectures and group work. Practical activities will be carried out at the High Melton site which has extensive facilities including a 9 hole golf course.

Course Structure
To achieve the qualification, there are four mandatory units and eight optional.

Core units

001 Prepare ground for seeding or planting

002 Plant container grown subjects

003 Apply organic mulch to a bed or border

004 Water a bed, border or area of plants in containers, using hand-held equipment

The eight optional units will be chosen by the candidate with the support of the tutor.
