Level: Level 1 - Module 3

Course content:
This is module 3 of a 3 module course, providing an introduction to computing. In this module students will learn how to use Microsoft Publisher. This will include creating a new publication, design rules, use of rulers and gridlines, inserting images & text, using design themes and quick publications
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Creating a new publication in Publisher
- Know the importance of design rules when creating a publication
- Insert images, text, charts into a publication
- Format text & images
- Use gridlines and rulers
- Create a quick publication
- Add design themes to the publication
- Use word art
- Use auto shapes
- Create PDF from publication
- Print publications
- Use different publication types

Course Structure:
Each student has their own computer. Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes. Step by step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts. Students will then work on individual tasks
N.B. Homework plays a substantial part of this course and you will be required to perform some additional work outside of class.

Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
