Course content:
The bench joinery apprenticeship programme is a work based learning programme aimed at people from the age of 16. As an apprentice you can earn while you learn bench joinery.
Apprentices are employed as bench joiners and will receive training in all aspects of the trade as outlined in the framework listed. At the end of the apprenticeship you will gain a Bench Joinery NVQ level 2 qualification. The training for a site carpentry and key skills qualification takes place in college as well with the employer. You will attend college one day week over a 2 year period.

Course Structure:
Bench Joinery apprenticeship framework requirements? Candidates are required to take five mandatory units to achieve the full award. The units are: - VR01 Conform to General Workplace Safety - VR02 Conform to Efficient Work Practices - VR03 Move and Handle Resources Bench joinery Option Route (any two units from the following) - VR 13 Set Up and Use Circular Saws - VR 14 Produce Setting Out Details for Routine Products - VR 15 Mark Out from Setting Out Details for Routine Products - VR 16 Manufacture Routine Products Plus the following Key skills at level 1 in Maths and English Technical certificate Employers Rights and Responsibility Certificate Health and Safety Test

Course resources:
Fully equipped Carpentry workshop. All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Ongoing throughout the programme in the workplace and at college.
