Construction - Plastering NVQ 2 Apprenticeships

Course content:
The plastering apprenticeship programme is a work based learning programme aimed at people from the age of 16. As an apprentice you can earn while you learn bricklaying.
Apprentices are employed as plasterers and will receive training in all aspects of the trade as outlined in the framework listed. At the end of the apprenticeship you will gain a Plastering NVQ level 2 qualification. The training for a plastering and key skills qualification takes place in college as well with the employer. You will attend college one day week over a 2 year period.

Course Structure:
Plastering apprenticeship framework requirements? Candidates are required to take six mandatory units to achieve the full award. The units are: - VR01 Conform to General Workplace Safety - VR02 Conform to Efficient Work Practices - VR03 Move and Handle Resources - VR62 Prepare Background Surfaces for Plasterwork Solid - VR65 Apply Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces PLUS ONE of the following - VR66 Produce Internal Solid Plastering Finishes -VR67 Produce External Solid Render Finishes - VR68 Install Direct Bond Dry Linings - VR69 Lay Sand and Cement Screeds - VR70 Apply Projection Plaster and Maintain Equipment - VR71 Install Mechanically Fixed Plasterboard Plus the following Key skills at level 1 in Maths and English Technical certificate Employers Rights and Responsibility Certificate Health and Safety Test

Ongoing throughout the programme in the workplace and at college.
