Is this course right for me?

The course provides training for trades that need to design, install and alter an existing electrical installation and who are not yet registered electricians. The course will prepare the learner for Part P of the building regulations.

What will I be learning?

Course content: * Applicable Building Regulations

• Electrical Safety legislation, regulations standards and terminology
• Pre - work survey/inspection
• Safe isolation procedures
• Identification of unsafe electrical situations
• Earthing and bonding requirements
• Electrical test procedures
• Cable and component selection
• Installation and replacement of electrical components
• Checking the correct and safe operation of installations
• Recording of results and completion of certificates
• Installing and/or re-routing cables
• Special Locations
• New circuit requirements
• Lighting installations
• Maintenance
• Supplies

How will I learn?

The course is split into modules which you will cover through theory and practical tasks over the one week intense course. The course is due to run during Easter Half Term week.

What else might I want to know?

This course is for people who would like to be able to register to self certify their own work to meet the requirements of the Building Regulations, but are not registered electricians.

You will need to provide your own books, personal protective equipment and stationery.
