WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
This course is for adults who are, or who think they may be dyslexic.
You can share your experiences with other people who understand and work on your individual needs with an experienced tutor.
The course will help you to gain confidence and learn new skills for everyday life as well as in college and work.
You can join the courses at any time throughout the year. We run the courses at our Wigston campus, and at the Market Harborough campus.
WHAT WILL I STUDY?
You will follow your own individual plan and work at your own pace.
You can use computers if you wish.
Your progress will be measured against the national standard for literacy and numeracy and you can work towards accreditation when you feel ready.
WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
You will need to attend your classes on a regular basis to achieve success. There are several groups available:
4f502-09 - starts 17th Sept at South Leicestershire College, Wigston - Thursday 12.30pm - 3.00pm
4f729-09 - starts 15th Sept at South Leicestershire College, Wigston - Tuesday 9.30am - 12.00 noon
4f722-09 - starts 14th Sept at South Leicestershire Learning Innovation Centre, Market Harborough - Monday 12.30 - 3.00pm
The most appropriate times and locations can be discussed with the tutor at interview.
WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE?
You have the option of taking a National Test at Level 1 and 2 (Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE A-C grade) in Literacy and Numeracy when you are ready.
There are also City and Guilds Certificates available in Adult Literacy and Numeracy at Entry Level.

4f729-09 Course fees 0 16-18 year olds, 0(0) 19 years and over
Course fees are payable on enrolment. Costs shown in brackets are for those on income-based benefits. Refunds are not normally available.
WHAT CAN I DO AFTERWARDS?
You can progress towards employment, further study or vocational training. You can also progress onto Skills for Life Courses.
