Course aims:
This course aims to improve your English skills in order to succeed at work in the UK. It will improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and focus on work-based language and functions.

You will learn about:
  • Applying for jobs
  • How to understand, read and write work documents (i.e. payslips, memos, reports, formal letters)
  • Your rights and responsibilities as a worker in the UK
  • Understanding the difference between formal and informal English
  • Health and safety
  • Filling in forms


Facilities for students:
Access to computers and e-learning facilities in the college.

Assessment: Exams in speaking, reading and listening, and writing

Entry Requirements:
Minimum entry Level 3 English. You must complete an application form.

If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you do not have to pay Tuition Fees, the College Registration, Awarding Body Registration or Exam/Assessment Fees. However, you will have to pay any Resource Fees. Under 19s entering Higher Education will have to pay full costs.
