Is the course for me?
You will learn the theory behind Indian Head Massage and learn to give this specialist massage to head, neck, shoulder, back. You will also gain a required VTCT level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards, if you are new to the industry. If you currently hold this Health and Safety diploma, you will update it if you gained it more than 3 years ago. This is an intense course, more suited to those with prior holistic therapy qualifications. If you are new to holistic therapies and this is your first holistic therapy qualification then you should try to find the tim to practice your practical skills in your own time and do written homework, this is then possible to achieve in the 14 weeks.

What will I learn?
You will learn techniques of traditional Indian Head Massage, history and related theory of energies and chakras. You will learn to assess clients, apply a professional Indian head massage , working to professional standards used in the industry. You will learn about the functioning of the human body through written homework anatomy and physiology assignment . You will learn how to assess your client for safety before application of Indian Head Massage. You will provide after-care advice for clients. In the Beauty & Holistic Department we offer a full Virtual Learning Environment for all students to access from home should they wish to do so. This will be useful for you to guide you through course timetable, track how your assessments are doing and join discussion forums with other students. You are required to attend all your sessions. This is a major requirement and missing any sessions may affect your achievement. We have modern, specialist salons, fitted with the latest equipment and open to the public for treatments in a real working environment. The new 'Academy' includes brand new, state of the art equipment, including sun spray tan, nail bar, beauty and hair salons providing you with the very best learning environment to develop your skills. How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed during the year, by completing written assignments (for homework), exams, practical assessments and case study assignments all presented in a portfolio of evidence.

What can I do after the course?
You will be eligable to apply for further holisitc courses such as Swedish and Aromatherapy massage, Reflexology, as well as full time Holistic Therapy Diploma Course. You could be employed as an Indian Head Massage Therapist in salons, spas and clinics. You could work as a self employed therapist. This course prepares you for employment or further study in this exciting and fast growing specialism.

Entry Requirement
You require an informal interview with an Holistic Therapy Tutor. You do not need any formal requirements, however this course is designed for mature students with good basic skills. A prior therapy qualification is an advantage for this fast track, level 3 professional course. You will require uniform and specialist shoes (approx £65).
