Course Overview Brush up your Maths classes help learners to improve their Numeracy skills. There are classes for learners at all levels from beginners to Level 2 (GCSE level). All aspects of practical Numeracy are covered from adding up to working out foreign currency. Classes are free and are available at Newbury College and at local centres in the area.

Qualification gained: All learners work towards a qualification. We offer City and Guilds Adult Numeracy qualifications at each level.

Course Content: Each term the teacher and the learner discuss what he or she needs to work on and an individual plan for the term is decided upon. Each learner works at his or her own pace and takes a qualification when ready. Classes are small and friendly and often have a volunteer who helps in the class. The classes focus on Numeracy skills that people need in real life and for work.

Work Experience: There is no work experience on this course.

Course Assessment: When learners attend their interview they complete an initial assessment to find out their level. Once in the class there will be further assessments to find out the learners individual strengths and weaknesses. Then an individual learning plan can be decided upon.

Progression: Learners can progress through the different numeracy levels. They can also progress on to other College courses.

Homework: There is no homework unless requested by the learner.

Additional Costs: There are no additional costs.

• Part Time Course Fee Relate to Year 1 course fees only. Two year course fees will have an additional course fee for the second year; these fees are subject to confirmation annually.
