Course Details

Prospective candidates should be employed within a primary, secondary or special school. It is highly unlikely that volunteers would have the breadth and level of responsibility to complete this award. There are 10 units to complete, consisting of: 6 mandatory units and 4 optional units. The mandatory units covered include: Promoting Positive Behaviour Developing Relationships Effectiveness of Work Teams Reflecting on Practice Supporting Learning Activities Keeping Children Safe The optional units covered include: Literacy Numeracy Special Needs ICT

Qualifications required:
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates, although experience of supporting pupils in a school environment is necessary. Prospective candidates will be required to attend an information/interview session prior to the commencement of the programme and be in possession of a criminal record check. Significant experience within primary, secondary or special schools is required at this level.
