Learn health, safety and hygiene in the kitchen Identify and use a range of typical food and spices Identity utensils and equipment and cooking methods Select ingredients and prepare a range of dishes

Qualifications required:
No formal entry qualifications or skills are required, as this is a basic introduction. The course is designed for anybody with an interest in different foods.

Additional info:
All food and equipment will be provided but you will need a folder to put all the recipes, handouts and notes into. Strong shoes with enclosed toes will be necessary because of the environment.(There is a charge for the food you have used if you would like to take prepared items home).

Advancement within the Open College Network: other courses at Level 1 are available in cookery.
