Scriptwriting

Level: introduction

Course content:
This three-session course will cover the skills and techniques needed to create an effective script for film and video, paying particular attention to feature films.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
1) Use techniques to create and develop your story idea
2) Identify and explain character dimensions
3) Create at least three ideas for a feature film and two for short film projects
4) Identify and explain ways to approach writing the script
5) Format your script correctly
6) Identify and explain ways to market your script upon completion

Course Structure:
Story Concepts; Developing Ideas; Characterisation Character Development; Structure; Deep Structure Packaging; Marketing; Selling the Script

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access. Your practical training will take place in a fully equipped studio.

Assessment:
Assessment will be through completed tasks.

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
