Course content:
Learn how to make beautiful soft furnishings for your home. From intermediate to more advanced learners. The emphasis is to make items for your home to a high standard
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Measure your windows,
- Choose & estimate fabric requirements for blinds & curtains.
- Have knowledge of types of tracks & poles available for your projects.
- Have a list of shops & outlets for purchasing fabric & haberdashery.
Level 2 learners will be able to chose from more advanced furnishings to include INTERLINED CURTAINS & BLINDS, BLACKOUT LINED BLINDS, DECORATED CUSHIONS, PIPED CUSHIONS & BED COVERINGS
Course Structure:
Classes typically have 14 learners working on their assignments after completing a sample of a curtain and/or blind. There is a weekly demonstration to update/introduce procedures
Course resources:
You will have the use of all equipment in the workroom which includes:- SEWING MACHINES, OVERLOCKERS, IRONS & METAL RULERS. You will have access to the learning Centre in Putney & Tooting. This includes the use of computers & books
Assessment:
tutor feedback. Homework. Individual Learning Plans.

When information is available you will notice 2 different fees stated for this course. The fee you pay is dependent on your status:
Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
