Is this course right for me?

Massage in the UK follows the pattern known as Swedish Massage. The main objectives of the course are to develop massage skills that will primarily be used for stress relief. The course is fully accredited and validated by VTCT.

What will I be learning?

In this fascinating area of therapy, students will explore how the body relaxes both mentally and physically to massage. Students will learn a body massage routine as well as the underlying anatomy and physiology essential for providing effective massage. Related Health and Safety is taught as part of this course.

How will I learn?

You will be continually assessed throughout the course by way of direct observation, oral questions, written tasks (projects) and final tests are also a part of this qualification. Health and Safety has an external exam that must also be completed.

What else might I want to know?

Students are required to wear a salon tunic for practical aspects of this course. You are required to register with VTCT and purchase an assessment logbook. There is no fee remission available on this course.

What can I do afterwards?

Students can add to their portfolio of treatments from the selection of courses offered at South Devon College.
