Course programme
Printmaking Level two
For advanced students, printmaking may be used in a fine art or design context to produce one off art works or to disseminate information through posters or books. It may be used to print designs on fabrics for clothing or upholstery, or even to produce wall paper! Some of this year's printmakers took part in the International Contemporary Artists' Book Fair 09, prepared work for personal exhibitions, and completed the year by staging an exhibition at Leeds College of Art and producing an edition box set of prints.
Course structure
Advanced students should first have attended Printmaking Level One at Leeds College of Art. This class may well be pushing the boundaries of printmaking practice! Expect prints to be made using a combination of techniques, including Photo-etching and Type Setting, and to work alongside others ready and motivated to direct their own course of investigation. The emphasis is on individual expression and experimentation.
Teaching
The processes are taught by example in small groups and on an individual
basis, by an experienced printmaking tutor with support from several
expert technicians.
