KEY FEATURES
These awards provide specialised Scottish Paralegal training in one of the three areas indicated below. In addition, they are recognised qualifications under the proposed scheme for Law Society of Scotland Registered Paralegals. You study online using the latest web technology with limited attendance required. The awards are fully certified by the Scottish Qualification Authority. They are approved by the Law Society of Scotland and Scottish Paralegal Association. Tutor support is provided by the college's experienced law lecturers by email or telephone. Start dates are flexible with each course taking between 8 and 9 months to complete. Each award comprises three Higher National (HN) units providing basic legal skills, in addition to the specialist topics outlined here:

COURSE CONTENT

A selection of core units includes:

PDA Debt Recovery
This incorporates paralegal court practice involving the pursuing and defending of payment, implement and delivery claims in the sheriff court, including appearing in court in small claim cases. Commencing in September, 2010, it includes 480 hours of study and the HN units: Sheriff Court Civil Procedure and Bankruptcy & Diligence. The fee for this course is
