Course Description
You will study explanations of human behaviour through various approaches. You will learn aboutresearch skills and use these skills to conduct psychological investigations. Lessons combine lectures, discussions, group and independent work.Psychology is the scientific study of human and animal behaviour and mental processes. The course is demanding and requires high levels of English and Maths.

Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths

Modules Studied:

• Perspectives - including the behaviourist, psychoanalytical, humanist, cognitive and biological approaches
• Psychology of Gender
• Bio psychology
• You will also study research methods and ethics. Social Influence, Memory and Anxiety Disorders
• At A2, we study:
• Abnormal psychology (depression and schizophrenia) and Forensic psychology (offender behaviour and treatment of offenders)
• Child development (attachments and friendships)
• Debates in Psychology

Attendance Modes: Day

Assessment: Exams in January and May/June in both AS and A2. Assignments as independent work - ranging from short questions to practice exam papers.
