Course Overview
This course is suitable for anyone, with an initial interest in Hairdressing as a career, who does not have the recognised attainment for Level 1 or who requires additional support.
The Diploma in Salon Services is suitable for those wishing to enter the Hairdressing industry to learn basic skills.

Additional training is highly recommended to enhance and supplement your main learning goal, to improve employment opportunities and add to your curriculum vitae. As such we endeavour to organise and arrange as varied external input as possible during your course of study.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over one academic year (34 weeks).

  • Introduction to Perming and Colouring

  • Essential Skills (Literacy & Numeracy )

More able students will have the opportunity of working towards additional level 2 units of Hairdressing.

Qualification Aims
City & Guilds NVQ Level 1 Diploma in Salon Services. City & Guilds NVQ Level 1 in Customer Services

Assessments/Examinations
Continual written and practical assessments/assignments in both theory and practical aspects of the course.
A portfolio of evidence is compiled throughout the course and submitted for final verification.
