Course Description
Students will study elements of physics, chemistry and biology as defined in Key Stage 4 of the National Curriculum in science. Classes meet for three 90 minute session every week.This new Key Stage 4 qualification develops an understanding of science and how it affects you during your everyday life. You will also be given the opportunity to develop practical skills and an understanding of how science works.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs Grade D, incl. English. (Maths D for some courses). Or Pass in Level 1 Vocational Qual., Merit for BTECs, plus Key Skills Level 1 Comm. (App. of Number for some courses) or equivalent. Diplomas require Functional Skills in ICT, Maths and English.

Assessment: You will be assessed through 6 multiple choice modular tests during November, March and June. Also you will complete a coursework assessment. Multiple choice, short written answers and closely supervised practicals. Some assignments are IT-based.

Progression Routes: Students may progress on to the GCSE Additional Science course which can lead to A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
