Course Content: Sports massage in all environments, relevant anatomy and physiology, client care, health & safety and consultation. Employment standards, joint and muscle function, musculo-skeletal injuries

Special Features: You will be continually assessed through your course on practical skills, written work and assignments. After an initial assessment you will work on a number of clients. During the latter part of training, it is usual for candidates to be given the opportunity of workplace experience in providing sports massage for large-scale events. These may include marathons and an assisted role in sports clubs and cycle races.

Course Format: Part-time

Progression: This qualification is very useful in the work place, generally in private practice, health and fitness centres and sports clubs. Progression onto the HNC Sports therapy (HND) is possible and some candidates proceed to courses in sports science.
