About this course

Entry requirements
You will need to be 16 and over and in full-time employment. You will already be working in a suitable role, or we can help you find one. If you are new to the industry or have limited experience you will need to start at Level 2.
For Level 2 you will normally require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (grade D) or above. For direct entry to Level 3, you will need a relevant Level 2 qualification and ideally English and maths at grade 4 (grade C) or above. However, all applicants will be considered on an individual basis.

Level 2 Team Leading
This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders and provides an in-depth introduction to the role and its responsibilities.
As a nationally recognised qualification, this apprenticeship could be the ideal launch pad for your management career.
Develop the necessary skills to become a fully competent team leader and then consider progression towards Management (Level 3).
You will gain:
Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading (ILM)
Level 1 Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and ICT
The qualification involves mandatory units, which cover the core skills you need to lead a team. You will learn how to plan, allocate and monitor work; acquire the tools and techniques to develop yourself as a leader; and find out how to get the most from your team.
You will work with your employer and training provider to find the best fit from a wide range of optional units. These cover everything from communication skills to business improvement techniques. The choice also includes units from Level 3 qualifications to help you progress in your career and benefit from professional training.
Level 3 Management
Managers play an integral role in supporting objectives through a wide range of tasks and functions including: planning; allocating and monitoring the work of a team; supporting team members; managing conflict, resolving problems; project management; agreeing budgets; and managing customer service.
The Apprenticeship will support your development to gain the appropriate skills to become a competent and professional manager in the modern working environment.
You will gain:
Level 3 Diploma in Management (ILM)
Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Math and ICT
The qualification involves five mandatory units. The first unit looks at personal and professional development, helping the apprentice to identify their own development needs and plan how to fulfil them. The second unit develops practical team management skills. The three remaining units looks into the theory behind people management, leadership and business.
Apprentices can them work with their employer and training provider to find the best-fit from the other units offered in the qualification.

Additional information

Teaching & assessment Throughout your training your tutor will guide you through assessments both in the workplace and at College. You will have practical assessments, online tests and assignments. Your personal assessor will visit you regularly in the workplace (or are happy to see you more often if you need extra help). They will assist you throughout your training to help you achieve your qualification. Apprentices may need to attend college should they or their employer wish for them to gain additional skills but this will be discussed with you and your employer. Our teaching and assessment is underpinned by our Teaching, Learning and Assessment Strategy 2015-2020.
