This is an introductory 10 week course, suitable for students who have no previous knowledge of Turkish. Each lesson covers the basic language for everyday situations. Throughout the course the emphasis will be on speaking, listening and reading Turkish script. Students will be encouraged to do homework to consolidate what they have learnt in the lessons. This course feeds into beginners level.

Your Course

This course feeds into beginners level 3 (summer 2010)
During this course students will take a short internal assessment in speaking Turkish. This will help to prepare them for the OCR Asset language test that will be taken at the end of the first year of study.
The course book is"Beginners' Turkish"by Asuman Celen Pollard.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Talk about yourself and describe people.
· Tell the time.
· Ask and give directions.
· Make, accept and refuse and invitation.
· Learn more aspects of grammar including the present tense, possesive pronouns, the comparative, the negative and forming questions.
· Shop for clothes.
· Learn more about Turkish culture and history.

Your Tutor
Zuleyha Gozunke is a native Turkish speaker with many years experience of teaching Turkish. She graduated from Marmara University in Istanbul and has worked with Cambridge Education and Training as a Tutor.

Tuition fees: £95
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
