The interactive and lively workshop includes:

Rob Woollen
Teacher
In his Master's Degree in Work and Wellbeing, Rob Woollen explored the relationship between "good work" and employee health -with a specialist interest in personal and organisational resilience. Passionate about providing strategies to enhance resilience that are both backed by evidence, and accessible to normal busy people, Rob speaks internationally on the subject at both professional and academic conferences. He continues his research as a lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, and the Higher Education Academy.
Course programme
This session explores the nature of stress, and the way if effects various aspects of our lives. We will explore how to recognise stress in ourselves and others, and examine the idea of resilience - the ability to bounce back from negative events. The session goes on the explore how we can build resilience, and manage our own stress using a variety of techniques from those based on physical relaxation to those aimed at creating new patterns of thinking. Includes the opportunity to briefly experience mindfulness, muscular relaxation and a brief guided visualisation.
