Description of the Course
This VRQ is a one year course in cookery and is equivalent of the NVQ Level 1 and NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality Multi-skills
Course content
This course is very practical and involves working in the kitchens and covers a wide range of cookery techniques:

· Baking
· Braising
· Boiling
· Roasting
· Grilling
· Poaching
· Steaming
· Stewing
· Deep and shallow frying
· Re-generation of pre-prepared foods
· Cold preparation

You will produce and cook food. You will have the opportunity to plan a themed menu in our restaurant and study communications as well as food technology. There will be the possibility of work experience at the end of the term.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in following a career in the catering and hospitality industry, preparing or serving food and drink. This can include working in a kitchen at a restaurant or hotel, serving in a bar or many other careers in the exciting global sector.
