Writing an Effective Business Case

About the course:
Organisations can miss valuable opportunities and make less-than-optimum decisions because of poorly constructed and communicated business cases. In this practical course, you carefully analyse initiatives to construct a clear business case that enables organisations to make better decisions.

This is an entry level course for anyone who is new to creating or evaluating business cases to justify investment in a programme, project, product, or purchase.

Course Content:
This is a half day practical course will enable you to:
  • Understand why a business case is required
  • Analyse, create and communicate a successful business case to meet your organisation's unique needs
  • Investigate who should be involved in writing it and authorising it
  • Look at the typical development path of the business case
  • Analyse if the expected benefits have been realised


Please note this half day course does not cover the production of an investment appraisal. If you would like assistance in producing the financial analysis included in the business case we can offer additional training on Microsoft Excel to support this.

Equipment Requirements:
All equipment will be supplied by City Business.

Assessment:
Due to the workshop nature of this short course, there are no examinations or tests to be carried out.

Progression:
Candidates may wish to pursue further qualifications offered by CIty Business aftersuccessful completion of this workshop such as the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) suite of programmes.
