The Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) is a personal licence holder named on a Premises Licence as the person in day-to-day control of an alcohol-licensed premises. This course is designed to provide the knowledge and understanding required to perform the job role of the DPS. It will cover the responsibilities of a DPS and also practical day-to-day issues a DPS may face in running licensed premises.

About this course
The aim of this course is to educate learners on the responsibilities attached to the job role of the DPS in respect of promoting the licensing objectives and carrying out the risk assessments needed to ensure compliance with law and regulation.
This one-day course should be taken by:
- Anyone named as a DPS on a Premises Licence
- Persons seeking employment or self-employment as a DPS
- Personal licence holders seeking to improve their promotion prospects
- Existing DPS’s who want to upgrade their skills and/or have their skills formally recognised
There are no legal requirements needed to be eligible to take this course.
