Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate will be certificated by JRCS Training, under their HSE Approval Status. This course aims to provide a sound working knowledge to enable the delegate to implement the protocols and procedures with confidence, as well as achieving a nationally recognised qualification. This course will also give the delegate evidence towards NVQ.

Course Outline:-
- 18 hours contact time with learners and course facilitator, normally over a 3 day period
- Formal summative written and practical assessments on the last day of the course
- On successful completion of the course, learners will hold the HSE First Aid at Work certificate.
Course Aims and Learning Outcomes:-
- For learners to successfully complete a formal summative assessment demonstrating that they can act safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work; use First Aid equipment, including the contents of a First Aid container; understand the duties of employers and the legal framework; maintain simple factual records on the treatment or management of emergencies; and recognise the importance of personal hygiene in First aid procedures.
- For Learners to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in dealing with a casualty who:- requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation; is unconscious; is bleeding or wounded; is suffering from shock; is suffering from an injury to bones, muscles or joints; has been burned or scalded; has an eye injury; has been overcome by gas or fumes; has been poisoned or exposed to a harmful substance; Students should be able to recognise minor illness; Students should be able to recognise major illness; and Manage casualty transportation as required by workplace circumstances
