Managing Stress
One Day Workshop
Course Aims:
To identify and alleviate, or prevent stressful situations, with practical techniques.
Course Outline:
This course will cover issues such as antidotes to stress, changing state, and ways to create choice. As a result the delegate will have a clear understanding of how to reduce stressful situations and how to deal with stress in a responsive, rather than reactive manner.
The starting point is the identification of the causes of stress, which are many and varied for each individual. How we then respond to that stressful situation or thought is important to know and, equally important to understand the physiology and psychology.
Exploring eliciting questions (asking useful questions) is a useful technique to open up our unconscious responses. This is therefore useful to breakdown why we are stressed in the first place and if it is possible to avoid the stress – if not how to deal effectively with it.
Other strategies to deal with potentially stressful situations will also be explored, such as Changing State – how posture and environment can influence the mind, and finally how to work with the body to combat stress – breathing correctly, posture & basic nutrition.
