Modelling
Splines & Text:
The foundation of most models, manipulating vertices, & creating shapes with mesh in mind.Lofting: Placing sections onto paths to create loft objects using deform parameters to mould lofted items.
- Mesh & Polygon Editing: Using primitive 3d objects to form the basis for complex mesh models working at sub object level to manipulate faces, edges & vertices, welding, subdividing & smoothing.
- Surfaces & Nurbs: Modelling using surfaces. Quad patches & nurbs. Using the extensive features of nurbs.
- Surfaces from Spline: Using the cross section & surface modifiers.
- Modifiers: Using modifiers to form & influence mesh models.
Materials & Mapping
- Creating Materials: Creating & applying the most commonly required materials. Using materials to replace modelling. Specialised materials such as raytraced & refraction organising material libraries. Materials for use with radiosity.
- Advanced Materials: Using multiple channels animated materials.
Lighting
- Standard lighting:
- Radiosity Linear lights, Area lights, Using manufacturers data, Photometric web files, Light emitting mesh objects, neon tubes, plasma screens, Optimising & Speed.
- Mental Ray: Global illumination, Caustics & Using ies data.
Rendering
- Scanline:
- Radiosity: Rendering interior scenes & Modelling for radiosity.
- Light tracer: Exteriors & Exterior animations.
- Mental ray: High quality raytracing, Product, Depth of field, Using shaders (dielectric & night lume) Camera distance.
