Gilly trained as a Voice Teacher at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama and has over twenty years experience working as a Voice, Accent and Dialect Coach. She has coached actors, lecturers, barristers and other professionals in theatre, television and the commercial sector, supporting them to be more powerful and effective communicators both through accent work and effective communication. Course programme

What will happen in a Group Session?

You begin with a warm up and review of last weeks sounds and the homework. Then you work on a number of vowels and consonant sounds, and each person in the group will be given feedback on exactly where their pronunciation differs from those sounds.

Then everyone will be practicing intonation, putting the sounds into speech, so straight away there is a practical application to your work.

And finally everyone is recorded, so you can all hear the difference and improvements for yourselves!


Our method has the following elements:
  • Metaphors and simple tools for speedy uptake
  • Responsivity to different learning styles
  • A focus on spellings and embedding the new sound into your neural networks
  • Intonation practice—to recreate the melody and cadence of neutral English


This course will help you to develop your strengths as you learn from your fellow participants, as well as providing you with a supportive and motivated group to work with. The group course also fine tunes your listening skills which is excellent for accent work.
