Course programme
A Practical Guide to Enlightened Living
This course will teach how to integrate spiritual practice into daily life, with unity and purpose. Expanding awareness from the yoga mat or meditation cushion out into the world in action is the key to transformation. Each week will focus on the basic fundamentals of mindful practice, dynamically combining asana, meditation and Maya ceremony, ending with interactive questions and answers. Open to all levels.
Week One: Awakening the Heart
Spiritual Practice begins with the discovery of the fundamental goodness in our lives. The key to opening the heart is gratitude. In spite of all our problems and confusion, we can face the world with openness and fearlessness, awakening the genuine heart of compassion.
Week Two: Letting Go
Acceptance comes, not from holding onto situations, but from letting them be. By allowing a gap, a space in which things may be as they are, we can begin to appreciate the clear simplicity and precision of our lives.
Week Three: Warriorship
A warrior learns to master the challenges of life, acquiring a sense of personal freedom and power - not through violence or aggression, but through gentleness, courage and self-knowledge.
Week Four: Balance
In an age of extremes and excess we are constantly struggling to find balance at all levels - psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual. Balance comes from making friends with Heaven and Earth; Earth as a grounding force (daily practice) and Heaven as open space (vision).
Week Five: Nowness
Nowness is freedom from the malaise of the past and from projection of the future. The way to experience the magic of the present moment is to fully focus on what is happening now, with complete awareness.
Week Six: Stillness
Meditation is the system that stabilizes the mind and purifies the heart. When the body is still and firm, the prana becomes balanced. In deep stillness meditation works; we tune into the creative force and generate enough power to carry out our daily activities, with wakefulness and joy.
