About this course
Applicants will need four GCSEs at grade D or above including English, Maths or a Science. All students must attend an assessment day.

Aim This is a 1 year course which provides workshop training delivering practical skills and underpinning knowledge relating to plumbing. Training will take place in our state-of-the-art workshop facilities and will be delivered by professionals from the industry.
Content
The programme provides training in the following areas:
· General health and safety
· Steel pipework, copper bending and jointing
· Cold water cisterns and central heating
· Use of compression fittings.
Assessment methods
All units are assessed using assignments.
Progression/career opportunities
Successful learners will be able to progress on to NVQ training, Level 2 or undertake an apprenticeship.
Extra information Students will be required to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) including overalls and boots. There is a £60 fee on all construction courses to cover the cost of your equipment including text books, files, pens, pencils, scale ruler, tape measure etc. to be paid at enrolment.
Screening
Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
