Course Content

At best, a serious case of food poisoning could damage a business’s reputation. At worst, it could endanger customers’ lives.

Responsible organisations can help to ensure the safety of their business and their customers by gaining a thorough knowledge of basic food hygiene principles and practice.

Qualification Levels / Awarding Body

The basic food hygiene course is awarded by the Royal Institute of Public Health to which we are an accredited testing centre. There are two main qualification options for taking part in the course:

  1. Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene
  2. Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

The whole course takes approximately 8 hours to complete, The units are provided through the learndirect eLearning system allowing you the flexibility to study the units at home or in our centre or mixed its up to you but most people choose to take it as a one day training event at our centre.

Course Delivery Method
Mixed - The delivery method is mixed comprising of tutor based support and guidance, eLearning material through learndirect.

Testing Method
There are pre-tests to give you confidence and address any short comings before attempting the 50 minute test at the end of the course taken at one of our centres.
