Basic Plumbing Studies (Adult)

The learner undertakes a short OCNW course (preparation for employment) as an introduction to the construction industry.

The learner will then undertake the main vocational course - City & Guilds 6129 Technical Certificate in Plumbing Studies Level 2.

This is a full time course run over two days per week.

The course is structured around a City and Guilds Syllabus, lessons take the form of lectures and practical course work.

the level of qualification is open to those learners having attained level 2 in adult literacy and Numeracy, or GCSE grades A-C in English, Maths and Science.

The core knowledge units are: Safety in Plumbing activities, Key Plumbing Principals, Common Plumbing processes, cold water systems, domestic hot water systems, sanitation systems, central heating systems, electrical supply and earth continuity, sheet lead weathering, environmental awareness, effective working relationships.

the end test is a GOLA on line examination.
