licensing regime. It is a requirement that they understand the intricacies of the Act.

The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Licensing Practitioners gives a broad introduction to the process of licensing including:

  • The duties of applicants
  • The powers and rights of the relevant authorities to inspect licensed premises

How long is the training course?
The BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Licensing Practitioners has been designed to be completed in one day, and includes a short
multiple-choice exam. A comprehensive handbook, presented in an easy-to-follow format, supports the qualification and covers all the
information needed for the examination.

How is the qualification assessed?
The examination for the BIIAB National Certificate for Licensing Practitioners is a multiple choice question paper.
The examination consists of 45 questions and 50 minutes are allowed for completion. For each question candidates are asked to select
the correct answer from 4 alphabetically sorted options. Answers are to be marked in pencil on a separate mark sheet.

The answers to all questions in all examination papers are contained within the handbook. Examination questions do NOT require
knowledge of materials contained in the appendices.
To pass the examination candidates must answer 31 of the 45 questions correctly.
