Program
This revised standard and has been brought into line with BS EN ISO 9001:2000. It now reflects the process approach, customer focus and the change from quality assurance to quality management as characterised in BS EN ISO 9001:2000.
The standard now focuses on giving guidance on the formulation of quality plans, rather than on quality planning and the formulation of quality objectives. The standard gives examples of how a quality plan may be prepared and presented, but it is not prescriptive and allows management to decide which format, if any, is best suited to their business.
Although following the guidance given in BS ISO 10005:2005 would assist in demonstrating compliance with ISO 9001:2000 (part of clauses 7.1, 7.3, 7.5 and 8.1), it is also a useful document to follow when considering implementing other management systems, such as BS EN ISO 14001:2004.
BS ISO 10005:2005 supersedes BS ISO 10005:1995 which is now withdrawn.
