Course Overview
This course is suitable for students who would like to follow a catering programme but may not have reached the expected grades for Level 1 or who may have experienced an interrupted education through personal trauma or other factors.

Course Structure
The course is delivered over 1 academic year, the course covers: knowledge of the catering industry, equipment, safety procedures in the workplace,customer service and practical tasks in the kitchen. Students will also study English, Maths, I.C.T., Personal and Professional Development and the possibility of a work placement. Regular tutorial sessions are also included in the programme to develop personal skills, team building and to discuss course progress.

AQA Qualification in Catering

Ascentis Qualifications Personal and Professional Development.
Edexcel qualifications in functional skills

Assessments/Examinations
Continuous assessments and review throughout the course.
External examinations in Functional Skills and portfolio of evidentce for catering will be required
