CIPD Certificate in HR Practice
The CIPD Certificate in HR Practice is the Foundation (Level 3) CIPD qualification that is replacing the old CPP course. It is designed as the first level entry point for HR practitioners as well as a qualification in its own right for those in HR officer/support roles. This programme commences in January and runs until the June.

What does the course involve?
This course revolves around taught based classes and workshops to carry out practical tasks. The course is taken by experienced tutors in the area of HR and management. To achieve the HR Certificate candidates need to become a member of the CIPD and to pass all six mandatory units.

What will I study?
Module 1: Developing as a effective HR professional Understand the characteristics of an effective HR professional. Understand the concept and reasons for continuing professional development. Assess their own profesional development needs and preferred learning methods. Be able to develop and review an appropriate personal development plan (PDP).

Module 2: Understanding HR and the organisational context Understand the business objectives of an organisation. Understand the main activities of the HR function. Knowledge of key employment legislation.

Module 3: Recording, analaysing and using HR information Understand the needs for accurate employee records. Use HR information systems. Awareness of legal requirements.

Module 4: Understanding Employment Law Understand the impact of employment law Understand the main individual rights Understand the issues of termination of employment.

Module 5: Resourcing Factors that impact on resourcing. Undertake key activities in recruitment and selection process. Understand the legislative requirements.

Module 6:supporting good practice in performance management Knowledge of performance management. Understanding of motivation theories. Conduct a formal review. Understand the data management.
