About this course

1. Respond to specific questions.
2. Express your opinions/feelings/ ideas/experiences in group conversations.
3. To use more effective ways of supporting your speech, e.g. signing, sketching, writing.
4. Notice when you need to pause and retry a word during a conversation.
5. Ask for help with a task within the group or with a problem you are facing.

Course programme

You will identify your communication strengths and difficulties. You will set personal goals for change and work on this through conversation discussion and structured tasks including word games and activities. Some reading and writing activities will be included.

You will join in group discussions, work with a partner or small groups. The tutor will guide the discussion and group work activities. Activities will be designed with individual needs in mind.
