5 GCSEs at Grade A* - C in 4 different subjects including English or English Literature. A in Maths at the Higher Tier. Places on this course are strictly limited to 18 students. In the event of there being more than 18 applicants meeting this requirement then places would be allocated to those with the highest average GCSE points score.

What will I study
Unit 1 - Problem Solving, Programming, Data Representation and Practical Exercise;
Unit 2 - Computer Components, The Stored Program Concept and The Internet.
Unit 3 - Problem Solving and algorithmic complexity, communication and networking, security, integrity and errors.
Unit 4 - A project addressing a computer-based solution to a real problem.
Visit to Sheffield University Virtual Reality lab.
Day visit to York University.
Unit 1 - 2 hour on screen exam;
Unit 2 - 1 hour written exam;
Unit 3 - 2 hour 30 minutes written exam;
Unit 4 - Internally assessed project.

AS/A2 Computing should not be taken with AS/A2 ICT in the same year.
