What does the course involve?
NVQs are nationally recognised qualifications that consist of work-based assessments that demonstrate knowledge, skills and competence. They have the advantage that they are more flexible in terms of students' time than conventional qualifications.
What will I study?
Students will need to complete 2 mandatory units plus five optional unit to complete the qualification.
Mandatory Units Prepare yourself to deliver good customer service and provide customer service within the rules.
Optional Units Choice of 17 optional units classified in 4 themes : Impression and Range, Delivery, Handling Problems, Development and Improvement. You must complete at least one unit from each theme.

What the difference between an NVQ and a taught course?
An NVQ collects evidence based on your previous skills and experience. A taught course consists of joining a group class consisting of a series of workshops where the underpinning knowledge is taught and standard assignments written by each student.
What the difference between an NVQ and an apprenticehip?
An NVQ is one element of an apprenticeship. The other units that need to be completed is a technical certificate (taught course) and key skills (in number and communications).

You will be allocated an assessor who will check that you are on the right programme and undertake a full induction. They will then meet with you on a regular basis to review your progress.

You will be set targets each time you meet with your assessor an it is crucial that you complete these tasks in a timely manner.
What's the difference between Leve 2 and the other two levels - 3 &4?
Operational staff would normaly undertake level 2 although more experienced staff may undertake this if they need a refresher for customer service. You should review the other two levels to make sure that you have best fit for your background.
