Creative and Media Diploma Level 3

This is an exciting new course developed with the support of employers in the arts industry. It will offer students an exploration of the creative arts in its broadest sense, with opportunities for real 'hands on' experience and insight through work related learning. Students on this course will become creative thinkers, effective communicators and flexible enterprising practitioners. The Diploma will provide choices for young people who wish to learn more about the creative and media industries, while also exploring creativity and the creative application of skills within a flexible programme that enables them to pursue other areas of interest.

What will I be doing?
Whether you aspire to be a fashion designer, creative writer, advertising director or musician, the Diploma offers a broad and engaging learning experience with opportunities to explore a range of creative and media-related disciplines. These are structured around four integrated themes:

• creativity in context
• thinking and working creatively
• the principles, process and practices behind the work
• commercial skills for creative business and enterprise

An integral part of this course is also linked to the achievement of functional skills in English, Maths and ICT, and it also provides you with the option to study an extra A Level as 'Additional Learning'.

How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed through practical and written assignments. Regular feedback will enable you to improve your grade and achieve your potential.

Where do I go from here?
You can progress to a Higher National Diploma or a degree course in an arts-based subject at university. Alternatively, you may chose to go directly into employment.

Entry requirements
Five GCSEs at grade C, or a Level 2 Diploma in Creative and Media.
