Course Content

The Effective Manager and Leader Programme will enable participants to understand the management skills and competencies within their role and responsibilities. They will have a greater appreciation of their own strengths and potential and areas they want to develop.

Objectives

By the end of the Effective Manager and Leader Programme participants will be able to:

• Explain the role and responsibilities of a Manager
• Explain how processes and functions inter-relate in the organisational structure
• Brainstorm the key attributes and skills required by a Manager and have been introduced to the skills to be covered throughout the programme
• Recognise different leadership styles and adopt styles appropriate to their own situations to plan and manage work activities to meet the objectives of the organsation and the needs of customers
• Motivate themselves and their team members to handle people and situations in a more positive manner
• Understand the stages of team development, recognise the maturity of teams in which they are involved and develop strategies for becoming a more effective team member
• Understand the need for effective team communication and the communications processes within the organisation
