Course Description

Classes meet for four 75 minute sessions every week. Evening classes meet at Kirkby or Roby for two hours per week.

4 GCSEs Grade D, incl. English. (Maths D for some courses). Or Pass in Level 1 Vocational Qual., Merit for BTECs, plus Key Skills Level 1 Comm. (App. of Number for some courses) or equivalent. Diplomas require Functional Skills in ICT, Maths and English.

Assessment: Assessed through a written examination (60%), oral exam (20%) and written language Work (20%). The coursework consists of four written pieces that test your ability to write in a number of genres: Fiction; Non-Fiction; Shakespeare; Prose.
