English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
This entry-level Skills for Life programme is for students who do not speak English as their first language.

Course details
Students are taught in small groups. You will be given the opportunity to develop your English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking throughout the course.

How is it assessed?
You will be assessed in different ways. The ESOL component is assessed by Cambridge Skills for Life examinations at entry level. You will also take examinations in Maths and IT.

Course duration
One year.

What do I need to study this subject?
You will undertake an initial assessment to identify the appropriate level of work for you. You must have a determination to develop your English skills and make a commitment to regular attendance at College.

Where can this lead me?
You can progress on to a higher level ESOL course or other College courses at the end of this programme.

What are the enrichment opportunities?
