Ann Finlayson
CEO, SEEd
Ann Finlayson has been working in the environment and education field for over 30 years. With vast experience as a facilitator, she has designed and led group learning processes based on action learning and has seen how engaging and effective these methods are. As the Commissioner for Education and Capacity Building for the Sustainable Development Commission, Ann has been facilitating workshops and learning processes within government departments. As a teacher she has had a long interest in learning, how the brain works and how you can apply this to group situations and social learning.
Course programme
SEEd will be running the third Facilitation for Sustainability course in October 2010. This unique course brings together facilitation techniques with learning theory, action learning and practice.
Sustainability is an opportunity for us to live and work differently to develop solutions to present and future problems as a community. This involves social learning where new ideas and practices can be created together. These groups can be in the classroom, in the community or in the workplace with good facilitation the key to successful engagement. Facilitation for Learning for Sustainability is the professional development course for teachers, educators, local authority staff, NGO staff and environment/sustainability champions in organisations.
The course has been designed to equip participants with the insights, tools, processes and confidence to work intelligently with audiences who are considering sustainability. The programme consists of four facilitated training days and a supported action learning project. You will have the opportunity to try your hand at different techniques while being guided by Ann Finlayson, an experienced facilitator and educator. Whatever your level of experience as a facilitator, this course will develop your skills and improve your professional practice.
