Life Skills - No formal qualifications. However, all learners must be working at Milestone 6 or above and succesful application will require an interview and asessment.
Work Skills - No formal qualifications. However, all learners must be working at Entry Level and succesful application will require an interview and asessment.

About the course:
The course consists of two elements - Life Skills and Work Skills.
Life Skills- This is a course for young people with severe learning difficulties aged 16 - 23 who like learning in a small group. The course will focus on independent living skills, working with others and functional skills.
Work Skills- This is a course for young people with moderate learning difficulties aged 16 - 19 who like learning in a small group. This course will focus on exploring vocational options, work skills and improving your learning.
Success Story:
Life Skills- Learners on this course have the opportunity to use the skills they develop through the year on the residential element of this course. Learners have chosen destinations such as YHA Telscombe where they chose activities, designed and budgeted a menu, and had a good time.
Work Skills- Learners on this course have achieved a high level of CSWL passes which has led them onto vocational courses across the college. A number of learners have also taken advantage of employment opportunities.

Learning Style:
Life Skills- Learners will work in small groups with support and will have an Individual Learning Plan.
Work Skills- Learners will work in small groups with support and increasingly will learn to work independently.
