Course content:
This course is for learners who have already achieved a good collection of grades at GCSE, AS/A level, BTEC ND or NC in Art or Design. It is intended to enable you to progress on to a B.A. (Hons) Degree or Foundation Degree courses in a wide range of Art, Craft and Design specialisms. The structure of the programme enables you to make a valid and informed choice of specialist for progression.
The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Course comprises of 9 units. Exploratory Stage:
Unit 1 Information and Research
Unit 2 Recording and Responding
Unit 3 Media Experimentation
Pathway Stage
Unit 4 Information and Interpretation
Unit 5 Personal Experimental Studies
Unit 6 Extended Media Development in Art & Design
Unit 7 Preparation and Progression
Confirmatory Stage
Unit 8 Integrating Theory and Practice
Unit 9 Personal Confirmatory Study

This course includes opportunities for Key skills in Information Technology, Literacy and Application of number.

Course Structure:
The course is delivered in weekly, fortnightly, monthly and six weekly projects.

Course resources:
Students are required start the course with an Art Kit with a range of Art and Design materials.

Assessment is continuous throughout the year

Fees Info
The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
£80 for art materials approximately.
