About this course

This course is suitable for students of all ages. 5 GCSE's passes grade C and above to include Art and Design; a BTEC ND or NC Level 3 at Merit grade or related work, courses or experience. You will need to present a portfolio of relevant work or will be given an assignment to complete in order to assess your level of skills in Art and/or Design disciplines at interview.

Art & Design BTEC (Edexcel) Foundation Diploma

Course content:
This course is for learners who have already achieved a good collection of grades at GCSE, AS/A level, BTEC ND or NC in Art or Design. It is intended to enable you to progress on to a B.A. (Hons) Degree or Foundation Degree courses in a wide range of Art, Craft and Design specialisms. The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Course comprises of 9 units. Exploratory Stage:

Unit 2 Recording and Responding
Unit 3 Media Experimentation
Pathway Stage
Unit 4 Information and Interpretation
Unit 5 Personal Experimental Studies
Unit 6 Extended Media Development in Art & Design

Unit 8 Integrating Theory and Practice
Unit 9 Personal Confirmatory Study

The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
£80 for art materials approximately.
