Qualifications required:
A satisfactory interview is essential. This course is suitable for students with 1 grade D at GCSE (preferably in English) and 3 GCSEs D-E (including English). Students who have achieved a Distinction at Entry Level Preparation for Childcare may also access this programme with an additional achievement of Entry 3 Literacy. This is not a qualification to allow you to work with children in a professional capacity. Entry to the course will be subject to a clean CRB check. Minimum 80% attendance is mandatory

Progression:
If you have achieved a Merit or above on this programme along with GCSE English at E (or Level 1 Key Skills Communications) you will be able to progress to the City and Guilds Certificate in Children's Care, Learning and Development. A high Merit (27+ points) along with GCSE English at D (or Level 1 Key Skills Communications) will allow you to progress to CACHE Level 2 Diploma Childcare Education.
