Course Details

The Award For the Award you must achieve Unit 1 at grade D or above and Unit 2 at Pass Unit 1 - An Introduction to Working with Children Unit 2 - The Developing Child The Certificate For the Certificate you will have to achieve the assessments for Level 2 Award plus Units 3-5 Unit 3 - Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environments for Children Unit 4 - Children and Play Unit 5 - Communication and Professional Skills Within Childcare and Education The Diploma For the Diploma you must achieve the assessments for Level 2 Certificate plus Unit 6 Optional Unit: Unit 6 - The Child Care Practitioner in the Workplace Optional Unit - Assessment Task 85% attendance at college and 100% at work placement is mandatory for achievement of this course. Professional Practice in placement is assessed throughout the year.

Qualifications required:
4 GCSE Ds, one must be English. Alternatively a CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children at high Merit/Distinction (27+points) and Key Skills Communications at Level 1 (or GCSE D English). Mature entry candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate understanding and comittment at interviews. A clean CRB police check is required.

1 year (780 hours study and 390 hours practical training)

Progression:
Learners can progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Diploma Childcare and Education or BTEC Level 3 Diploma Childcare, Learning and Development.
